Lead Software Delivery Engineer

Overview:
SessionM, a Mastercard company, is seeking a dynamic Lead Software Delivery Engineer to provide technical leadership for our build pipeline creation and orchestration, source code repository service, security scanner tooling, and other critical aspects of our CI/CD operations. The chosen candidate will be actively involved in researching new technologies/tools to enhance our current system. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, intellectually curious, possesses an analytical mindset, and excels in communication.

Role:
• Provide technical leadership and guidance for US-based team of software engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines.
• Lead the end-to-end delivery of software projects within the SessionM platform, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Develop new and maintain existing CI/CD processes.
• Promote code-reviews, code scanning, troubleshooting, and other standard development practices to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Identify opportunities and build roadmaps to enhance our team’s services.
• Automate and simplify all aspects of software delivery, actively evangelizing the need to automate and simplify where needed.
• Provide guidance on new technologies to influence the direction of automation.
• Be a contact point for CI/CD incidents happening during US office hours.
• Communicate and work together with the European part of the team, Prague-based.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and technical specifications for software solutions.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for software designs, technical specifications, deployment procedures, and operational support guidelines.

All About You:
• Proven experience in software development, with a focus on delivering complex, scalable, and mission-critical applications.
• Proficiency in Linux and scripting languages like Python or Shell
• Administration experience with GitLab (or similar platforms like GitHub, Bitbucket)
• Strong understanding of CI/CD processes and hands-on automation experience
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, or AWS CDK
• Extensive experience with AWS services, including EC2, ECS, S3, and Lambdas
• Proficiency in Docker/containerization technologies
• Demonstrated experience in technical leadership of software development teams and managing end-to-end project delivery in an Agile environment.
• Expertise in software design principles and architectural concepts, with a focus on building scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges and opportunities.

Desired skills:
• Familiarity with Black Duck and Checkmarx for code security scanning
• Experience with container security scanning
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, preferably with AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service)
