These clients rely on Figment’s institutional staking service including rewards optimization, rapid API development, rewards reporting, partner integrations, governance, and slashing protection. Figment is backed by industry experts, financial institutions and our global team across twenty three countries. This all leads to our mission to support the adoption, growth and long term success of the Web3 ecosystem.

We are a growth stage technology company – looking for people who are builders and doers. People who are comfortable plotting their course through ambiguity and uncertainty to drive impact and who are excited to work in new ways and empower a generative company culture.

About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Protocol Specialist to help us scale out our operations. The person in this position will bring a blend of project management skills and technical knowledge to help the DevOps team launch new chains, stay up to date with software upgrades and other critical blockchain changes.

The protocol expertise you will develop supports our internal teams, including DevOps, Sales, and Customer Success team. As a fast-growing startup company, it's critical that you are adaptive to varying work conditions. We work with very dynamic Blockchain development teams across the world and work across a range of projects and functional areas between departments.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Combine project management skills with technical knowledge to manage new chain onboardings as well as regular maintenance
  • Develop an understanding of all supported protocols (enough to be dangerous) and an in-depth knowledge of a select few protocols (e.g. Polkadot / NEAR / etc)
  • Maintain protocol information and awareness of current and upcoming events, including: tracking upgrades, governance proposals, hard forks and various communication channels to ensure our customers and internal teams have timely updates on all critical protocol changes.
  • Ensure technical solutions align with project goals and requirements
  • Serve as a liaison between technical teams and stakeholders
  • Manage integration of maintenance systems and tools

Qualifications

  • Effective communication skills; facilitate collaboration between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Problem-solving; analyze process problems and identify solutions
  • Adaptability; flexibility to adapt to changing requirements, priorities and challenges
  • Personable and comfortable communicating with others across teams and platforms on a regular basis - high EQ.
  • Previous experience in crypto/blockchain is a bonus, or alternatively, being highly crypto curious and ready to dive head-first into the space.

One of Figment’s core principles is “Making the Invisible Visible” - ensuring transparency and information sharing in all communication. Figment is committed to transparency regarding pay, benefits, and other compensation types for all internal roles as well as all roles being hired for.

Base Salary: The CAD base salary range for this position is CAD $65,000 - $75,000. The US base salary range for this position is USD $65,000 - $75,000. This range reflects base salary only, and does not include additional compensation or benefits. For candidates in other countries, the pay range will be disclosed upon your first interview with Figment (being a globally remote company, the list of salary ranges would simply be too long to note here!). The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum range for a new hire across all Canada or the US. A candidate’s specific pay within the range will be determined by various factors including job-related skills, relevant education, and training.

Benefits: All employees of Figment receive the following competitive benefits. For candidates beyond Canada and the US, benefits will be outlined during your first interview with Figment.
