About the Role
As a Financial Institution Partnership – Global Banking Relations professional, you will build and manage RedotPay’s global banking infrastructure. You will identify, negotiate, and onboard relationships with commercial banks, transaction banks, EMIs, merchant acquirers, and payment processors.
In this cross-functional role, you will partner closely with Product, Compliance, Legal, Treasury, Operations, and Finance to establish local payment rails, virtual accounts, card processing, FX/liquidity, and operating accounts across strategic international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Global Banking Network Expansion: Build senior relationships with commercial banks, transaction banks, EMIs, and acquirers across APAC, Europe, LATAM, Middle East, and Africa to expand local entities and eliminate single-point-of-failure risks.
- Banking Infrastructure & Rails: Source and deploy solutions for corporate/operating accounts, customer funds safeguarding, virtual IBANs, FX/liquidity, and domestic/international clearing systems (e.g., SEPA, FPS, ACH, Fedwire, Pix, SPEI).
- Card Payment Processing: Establish commercial relationships with acquiring banks, merchant acquirers, and PSPs to support global card processing; negotiate processing fees, reserves, limits, and FX terms. (Note: Role excludes direct card scheme management like Visa/Mastercard or card issuing).
- Market Entry & Local Payments: Develop tailored banking architectures (direct accounts, sponsor-bank models, or licensed PSP partnerships) to facilitate local collections, payouts, and wallet infrastructure for new market entries.
- Commercial Negotiation: Lead negotiations with financial institutions on pricing (payment/account fees, FX spreads, settlement costs) and operational parameters (transaction limits, reserves, funding cycles).
- Bank Onboarding & Due Diligence: Manage institutional KYB/AML due diligence; articulate RedotPay’s business model, compliance framework, and risk controls to banking partners to accelerate onboarding.
- Relationship & Strategic Management: Maintain C-level/RM stakeholder relationships to resolve operational issues and expand existing partnerships; map market capabilities alongside Treasury to optimize liquidity and settlement structures.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 5–8+ years in Financial Institution Partnerships, Institutional BD, Transaction Banking, or Cross-Border Payments within a fintech, digital bank, or payment institution. Proven track record of taking bank partnerships from pitch through compliance onboarding to live launch.
- Payments & Banking Expertise: Deep knowledge of transaction/correspondent banking, local/cross-border payment rails, virtual IBANs, safeguarding accounts, FX settlement, and card acquiring/processing across multi-jurisdictional setups.
- Institutional Relationship Skills: Strong existing banking network; proven ability to negotiate complex commercial terms, engage senior FI stakeholders, and navigate lengthy institutional onboarding cycles.
- Cross-Functional & Analytical Mindset: Adept at translating commercial goals into compliant payment architectures alongside Legal, Compliance, and Treasury teams.
- Attributes: Proactive, independent, fluent in English, comfortable with ambiguity in complex markets, and willing to travel internationally.
- Preferred Background: Prior experience at cross-border payment firms (Airwallex, Wise, Nium, Rapyd, Thunes), acquirers/processors (Adyen, Checkout.com, Stripe), or transaction banking teams. Experience with crypto, stablecoins, or digital assets is a plus.
