About the Role: Senior Engineer, C++ Trading Platform Performance

As a Senior Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the performance of the Talos trading platform. You will work on a variety of projects that touch all parts of the system, including connectivity to exchanges and liquidity providers, market data distribution, and tuning our cloud infrastructure. Your goal will be to achieve the best possible trade execution for our clients.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct detailed performance profiling of the trading platform to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.

  • Monitor system performance in real-time to proactively identify and address issues.

  • Fine-tune the trading platform's configuration settings and parameters to achieve optimal performance.

  • Conduct research, manage proof of concept studies, and take ownership of projects once they are prioritized as strategic initiatives.

  • Enhance the connectivity components to ensure robust and low-latency communication with exchanges and liquidity providers.

  • Improve the performance of market data distribution mechanisms to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver high-performance solutions.

  • Document performance improvements and optimizations to ensure knowledge sharing and reproducibility.

Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong C++ and Go programming skills, including in-depth knowledge of C++ standard libraries.

  • Experience working on low-latency, event-driven systems.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Solid understanding of networking, CPU, and memory management.

  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working with teams across multiple departments and geographies.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • A keen interest in financial markets and experience working with trading and market data is highly desirable.
